In the spring of 2005, Bono and his wife Ali Hewson launched EDUN–a clothing design business that supported the African community and helped to alleviate poverty. Spacesmith, the architects, designed the 8,600 square foot office, keeping the environment and the goal in the company in mind. Legacy Builders was brought on board because we believed in the same concepts—keep the hard construction to a minimum while maintaining the natural light that could embrace EDUN’s commitment to sustainable design. We used reclaimed and salvaged materials and furnishings. We worked with local vendors and crafts persons and worked within a very tight deadline to create a very symbiotic work environment. Legacy’s ultimate goal has always been to present a final product to the client that represents their goals and intent.
